About

Do you believe in the power of rock and roll?

John Robb discusses his multifaceted career, including his bestselling book "The Art of Darkness", being the first to interview Nirvana, coining the term "Britpop," and his adventures in post-punk music. He's known for his role in television, as a best-selling author, musician, journalist, presenter, pundit, music website boss, publisher, festival organizer, eco-warrior, vegan advocate, and lead singer of The Membranes.

Robb's book, "The Art Of Darkness - the History Of Goth," is a global pop culture bestseller. He's launching the Green Britain Academy to train thousands in eco-jobs, while also leading Borders Blurred, a unique gaming and music agency. His background includes forming The Membranes in Blackpool, influenced by punk rock. A prominent post-punk fanzine writer in the UK with ‘Rox,’ he later contributed to the rock press and played a key role in the Madchester scene. His website, louderthanwar.com, ranks as one of the UK's top music and culture sites.

A regular commentator on TV and radio, Robb discusses music, culture, and politics. He's a leading conversation host with a successful YouTube channel and organizes the Louder Than Words festival in Manchester. His literary works include "Punk Rock - an Oral History," "The Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop," a 2021 book on eco-energy leader Dale Vince, and upcoming books with Alan McGee, his autobiography, and a collection of journalism.
